Holiday Wrap Up

Well, if you're like me, you still have a few lingering Christmas decorations around the house and a few sweets haunting you from the cabinets! I am always sad when Christmas is over, but I do look forward to cleaning and organizing things around the house in January (and February….and March….)

This was our year to travel to Michigan for Christmas, and we got to see a ton of family which was really fun. For Thanksgiving, we went skiing for the first time in Colorado, which was another holiday highlight for sure!

Here are some of my favorite pics from the season…

I put this one first because it's my sister's BDAY TODAY!!! Happy birthday Robyn. She is turning 34 (or is it 35??)….such a youngster…You see who is on their skis and who is carrying them…we had SO MUCH FUN skiing. Or should I say "LEARNING" to ski. I need another lesson. Or 6.

I love this picture because Caroline took it while on ice skates. So I think it's pretty good. She learned to ice skate in Beaver Creek, and is now obsessed.

How cute are they??? Caroline and my nephew Grant. They look so legit. After ice skating for a day, then skiing for a day, I was informed by Caroline that she is a "winter sports" girl. I guess we're moving??

Here is a family pic (I may have already posted this at some point) …but it has become my screensaver because I love it so much. Caroline did that for me, too. I have absolutely no idea how to put up a new screensaver…but she does, and that makes sense since she's 9.

This is Grandpa Phil, Grandma Candy and cousins Lela and Payton. We loved getting to spend time with everyone in Michigan.

This is Grandma Veronica. I love how they match in their purple!

And last but not least Grandpa Stu. We also celebrated his birthday on the 27th!

I just had to post this because I think it's adorable. Caroline loves to wear skirts when she goes skating. Have I mentioned I'm an awful skater??

And this is cool because it's four generations of Hakola women…My mom's maiden name. Can't get much more Finish than that….Grandma Ruth, Mom, me and Caroline…we were WAY north in Michigan in this photo. As in, I could have thrown a rock into Canada…

There is no doubt about it that Christmas means family. And lots of it. As I was gathering all my pics together from various cameras, emails, and my phone- it struck me at just how rich I am in family. We are so blessed to have great relationships on both sides, and I know Caroline feels loved by so many. If great family was measured in dollars and cents, then I am definitely a millionaire.

But don't ask to borrow any money…

hahahahah!

Love, blessings, and Happy New Year!
Shelley

Have I told you I LOVE your sense of humor?? :D

You don't know there is a law who punish people who throw rocks in Canada?? Hahaha.. (ok, it wasn't funny, I know...)

You know what, my grandma is called Ruth too! :D But she is not from MI, she lives in MN!!

Brazilian hugs on your way!!
Have a blessed 2012,
Karen
