Young Life and the Circus

Well I feel kinda bad because I'm stealing some pictures that my dad told me to give to Leigh for the first part of this blog. David and I went out of town last weekend for a little fun trip, and my parents came to keep Caroline for us. While we were gone, Mimi and Boppa took Caroline and Darby Mae to the circus. When Leigh dropped Darby off, she asked my dad to take some pics for her blog. He sent them to me to send to her a few days later, but I forgot to forward them to Leigh and just saw them in my email, so before the news is too old….

Here are Darby and Caroline at the Circus. :0)

Aren't they getting so big?? They had a really good time apparently and stayed for the whole thing. Caroline said the clowns were a little weird, and I was like "Duh"…clowns are the worst!!

I specifically told them that they were to buy NO cheap trinkets or souvenirs…so here they are in the gift shop…Boppa is such a sucker…

They HAD to get these cups because the snow cones were IN them…Genius…

I haven't been to the circus in ages, but I used to think it was so cool.

So that's that…sorry Leigh for stealing your blog…don't be mad.

So last night we performed at a beautiful home here in Nashville for Young Life. This is such an incredible organization that is sharing the gospel with junior high and high school kids, and I hope when Caroline gets in Junior High she will be involved in it. We didn't have it at my school growing up, and I know how fortunate the schools that do have it are.

Here we are with David Ott. He is the Nashville director over all the schools for Young Life. Too bad he's not very cute…We look like his grandmas…and remind me not to wear my hair in that kind of ponytail again. Thanks.

He did a great job organizing the event along with all the other Young Life committee members. Really really sweet people with a huge heart for teens. Kindred spirits with us for sure.

Here is Denise warming up. PS That's a guitar pick in Dana's mouth. Not his tongue.

And of course they had desserts and I'm proud to say I didn't eat a single one of them. Modern day miracle.

Thanks to the Elam family for hosting this fundraiser and all the people who came to support this great organization.

Happy ALMOST Friday!!
