Good morning!! It finally feels like Spring. Thank you Lord!!!! We've enjoyed a weekend of warm weather. I have needed it so much. There have been a lot of things that have gone on since I last blogged. Spring break, the start of baseball season, track season, Easter, the Opry. Not sure where to start.
Spring Break. We went to Florida. Although while we were there it didn't feel much like Florida. We had a good time with friends. I spent my birthday there which is always fun. There were tons of people from the boy's school and they loved hanging out. I enjoyed being under a blanket in the condo reading a book:)
Easter - We came back to spend Easter weekend at home. It was a great one, even though it was rather cold that weekend as well. On Saturday we did our traditional trip to my friend Kelley's Mom's farm. I love this day so much. We spend time sharing the true meaning of Easter with friends and family.
This is Kelley and I. I love her so much. She prays for me about anything I need her to and I do the same for her. I'm so grateful for her in my life.
At the end of the day we always take a picture by the cross of our family. This year, my family was the four of us plus my niece Melodie and our sweet and dear friend Alex. We were so glad they were able to join us this year.
So Easter Sunday was one of the first times that I have actually hosted Easter lunch at my house. I was a little stressed, but it actually turned out wonderful. The Cappillino's joined us along with some of our other dear friends. We had LOTS of food and I was thrilled that nothing burned. We only had one hiccup. My niece was walking out of her condo carrying the deviled eggs at the same time her roommate was coming in. One of them tripped and the eggs ended up in the bushes. Oh well
We ended the awesome meal with an Easter game instead of a hunt. The Cappillino's were in charge of this part of the day. We had 3 teams. Pink, Yellow, and Green (with mascots)
Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! We did!!! We enjoyed a delicious meal with Denise and her family. We had a great time of fellowship and fun.
We r so blessed!!!
Here is a new video of Andy... The things we parents invent for our kids and for a moment of peace. Enjoy.
Happy After Easter!!
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday weekend. I must admit as the years go by, Easter has a more and more profound effect on my soul. I guess that is one of the good things that come with age. I also loved watching the Bible series on the History channel. Such a moving depiction of the crucifixion.
I loved having my mother-in-law here over the weekend from Michigan. In fact, I got out my camera Easter morning specifically to take a picture of her and David with Caroline - and I specifically remember snapping it - and I have searched high and low through my phone and camera and I cannot find it. Wondering if "someone" was messing with my camera and accidentally deleted it. Argh!! But anyhow, we had such a nice relaxing visit with her. I wished they lived closer. As in, next door. Wouldn't that be nice!
I've started some spring cleaning around the house. My first project is washing all the slipcovers. This is quite a job - and my den has feathers everywhere from all the cushions. But, it's starting to look better. I'm sure Bella our dog will undo what I've done by the weekend….
We are performing Saturday night at the Opry here in Nashville, then next weekend out to California to do a show…if you are around either of those places, come out and see us. Check our tour page HERE for details…
Here are a few pics from Easter…
We decided this year to do our egg hunt with the neighbors on Saturday night - "Flashlight Egg Hunt." Sounds fun, right?! Except when it's pouring - but that doesn't thwart our plans, no sir…
The kids had a blast - and this is why we will never move. Because Miss Kirsten organizes and fully orchestrates egg hunts in the rain.
Here we are Sunday morning - and if anyone finds that picture of Grandma Veronica…please send my way….so frustrating…
Hope y'all have a beautiful day!!
Well, I know that my birthday is not for another week, but Stu has decided to give me my present early. If you know me really well, you know that organization is not my best friend. For whatever reason, I have REALLY be BAD at it over the past two months. Too much brain overload or something. Therefore, my house has paid the price for that. Drawers are completely overstuffed, closets have as many clothes on the floor as they have on the hangers (OKAY,, it's not quite that bad). But, it has definitely not been my proudest moments. So, for my birthday Stu has hired someone to come help me get organized. I'm thinking that this present is actually more for himself than me. Her name is Miss Michael. She is a wonderful Godly woman who is helping me to take a space at a time and make it more functional. I think there is probably something "Spiritual" about it all. Doesn't God want us to take every part of our mind, heart, body, soul, and let him come in an rearrange it to make it more whole so that we function the best we can giving Him glory in what we do?
Here is the first order of business. My work space. I now have a place that I can sit here and type this blog. I have notecards at my disposal to write a quick note to someone that I've been thinking about. My Bible study and Scriptures are right here. I'm so excited. So, thank you Honey!!! Even if this was a gift for yourself, I LOVE it and I know it will go towards enhancing our marriage and family:)
Last night the boys informed me that they both needed to bring a treat to school. Well, I just bought a pan that makes little bundt cakes. So I used our Point of Grace cookbook (Cooking with Grace) and made the "easy breezy Chocolate Cake" and made them into mini bundt cakes. Aren't they cute?
I am soooooo ready for Spring. I'm about to stop writing so that I can go outside and get some of that beautiful sunshine we are having today in Nashville. Hope you have a wonderful day and a great Spring Break if you are headed into that time. Get some of your Easter decorations out. It has helped my frame of mind even when it has been cold outside.
Have a wonderful weekend. So glad it's Friday!!!
