Our Nashville Show

Well, it's over. The show that I look most forward to and dread the most at the same time. Our Nashville play. I love that my friends and family come, but then it also makes me really nervous. We always say something dumb or mess up words or something that we never do anywhere else. BUT, last night went off fairly smooth. It was a great crowd. (you never know in Nashville), but they had energy and laughed at all of Shelley's jokes. After getting several complaints from people last year about the fact that our "characters" weren't part of the show, they made an appearance this year with the help of Spence and his two friends George and Caleb. It may be the only time I can get Spence to dance with me:) Here's some pictures.

As it always happens, one of our kids always has some kind of school program on the same day as our Nashville show. This year it was Caroline's school Christmas concert. We were panicked that she wasn't going to make it in time, so we moved the song set around to put their song as late as possible in the show as we could. Whew, she made it just in time! Darby and Caroline sang Silver Bells while Price played along on guitar.

It was great night. Now I can breath a sigh of relief. LAST DAY OF FINALS and we are out of school. YIPEE!!!! Looking forward to our last three shows in Greely, CO, Reno, NV, and Modesto, CA. Wish we were on a bus so that I could sleep more, but that's okay. Christmas is counting down!! May your days be Merry and Bright!!!

Denise

Salsa, Christmas Cards, & Hope

One more day of finals and school is done for the semester. Hallelujah!!!! I'm not sure who's more excited about it. The kids or me:) It has been good to be home a few days this week. I'm starting to get a grip on our Christmas list. On Wednesday night I stayed up til 2:30 a.m. making Shelley's Mom's Salsa for our teachers. It took two full recipes.

I've almost finished all my Christmas Cards. Yay! Anyway, It's just been nice to be home and be able to help the boys study for finals, etc. LOL! Well at least I'm there for moral support. I am definitely not smarter than a 5th grader.

Super excited about tonight and our Nashville Show. IT always makes me a little nervous to sing in front of friends and family, but fun all at the same time. I'll share pictures from the show tomorrow.

Wanted to leave you with one little thought today as I read this morning in my devotional. HOPE - We hear a lot of statements this time of year with the word "hope" in it. I "HOPE" I get such and such for Christmas. I "HOPE" the mall isn't too crowded. I "HOPE" that I get my shopping done..... etc......... But HOPE is what we celebrate at Christmas! Our HOPE is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ. Our HOPE is found in our future. We have HOPE that God has not abandoned us. He made a way to have relationship with HIM. That is real HOPE.

Romans 15:13 "May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in HOPE.

Have a blessed day.
Love,
Denise

Shelley Says...

Once again on our "Home for the Holidays" Christmas shows this year, we are honored to be working with The American Bible Society and a special initiative they have called "A Soldier's Hope".

Even though many of our troops are coming home from Iraq, there are still hundreds of thousands deployed all over the world who will not be home for the holidays because they are sacrificing for us.

We have learned that many of these young men and women are facing their own mortality for the very first time. As you can imagine, it's a huge opportunity for the chaplains of the armed forces to share Christ with generous souls. The chaplains need OUR help. We can have a huge part in providing Bibles and spiritual care for America's sons and daughters who are sacrificing for us. We can give back in the greatest way possible- sharing God's word with them.

Many people have joined with us on our tour so far in providing 24 soldiers a year (two a month) with Bibles. Thank you so much to those of you who have partnered with us so far. If you are interested in pledging just 10 dollars a month to help us reach our goal ….just CLICK HERE for more information.

We met a guy in Louisiana the other night who had actually received one of the Bibles that went out from our tour last year. It had a personal note from the concert-goer inside the front cover, and he was so so blessed to receive it. They really are getting into the hands of these guys and gals who need comfort and peace more than we can imagine.

Below is a short video that explains a little more about the great need. Please watch then join us and pledge 10 dollars a month to not only say "Thanks" to these heroes at Christmas, but all year through!

Love, Shelley
