Hustle and Bustle

We have had a tremendous time with our family and friends over this Thanksgiving break. I hope you all did too.

Sunday morning, I surprised May May with tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes. WE loved it!!! Still one of the best shows around!!

Monday was back to school... Darby had her FIRST book report due on Monday. She had to dress the part and present her report. I was so proud of her. I remember my Mom staying up as late as necessary to help me "finish" many a reports. Darby's report was on Sacagawea. I learned so much about this young lady.

A Happy Birthday to my nephew Christian!!! Today he is 15 years old!!! Happy Birthday Christian. We celebrated with an ice cream cake (his favorite) in the shape of a football. We loved having him here. Our house felt complete with an "older brother" in the mix. Darby will miss him dearly.

We are in full swing with Christmas rehearsals too. Yesterday we got started... It's going to be another fantastic time. Our band is blazing!!! Hope you will come out and see us, we would love you to bring the whole family.

After our rehearsal yesterday we joined our friend Amy Grant for the annual 'Lighting of the Green' at Lipscomb University. A beautiful evening... Nashville is filled with incredible musicians - some names you will never know - yet extremely talented! The talent was so fantastic we went to the bathroom to rehearse just a few minutes more. When you are with Amy Grant, always put your best foot forward. We loved meeting new friends and seeing our old ones too..I am definitely in the Christmas spirit. I have some pictures of the evening...

If you are anything like me, this is a very busy time - let's try together to take mental pictures of the great moments and delete the others that cause us to be anxious. Happy November 30th!!!

many blessings, leigh cappillino

Thanskgiving At The Cappillino Lodge:

Well, I didn't get to go to Beaver Creek for Thanksgiving but I did get to visit the Cappillino Lodge:) Since we usually don't go to Oklahoma for Christmas, Leigh was gracious enough to ask us over for Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful weekend here in Tennessee and we thoroughly enjoyed cooking, eating, football, and eating again. Plus getting out the Christmas decorations. Leigh really outdid herself, so I have to brag on her decorating skills. She totally got me motivated to finish decorating my house.

The food was delicious if I do say so myself. Here is Dana carving up the Turkey. I just realized we forgot to do the wishbone. Oh well.

And Leigh tossing the salad.

Oh my goodness, I have to show you the cake that Leigh's neighbor Peggy made. Yes, it was on the cover of Southern Living. Chocolate Gingerbread cake!!!! HELLO. I would never attempt this, but it was awesome.

While we were preparing lunch, we sent the kids outside for a little basketball. Spence, Price, Darby, and Darby's cousin Christian. Poor Darby probably felt a little ganged up on, but she is starting to really become a good basketball player.

Our Thanksgiving morning started at 9:00 a.m. at a Father/Son flag football game. What could be better than that? The boys had a great time running their "OLD DADS" around the field. I'm not sure Stu has quite recovered yet. haha

Here's Price catching a pass looking into the sun for a touch down.

Well, I gotta run to Christmas rehearsals. I hope you come to our show somewhere. I have this strange feeling that it's going to be a really special tour. If you know anyone having a hard time this season, make sure you bring them out.

Love,
Denise
